MINUTES <br />City Council <br />February 8, 1989 <br />Scalze asked about radio. <br />Johnson said that they are currently on 96.1, playing adult <br />contemporary. He also informed the Council of various <br />family oriented activities the Station is involved in. He <br />said that there is nothing unique about their needs. They <br />would even consider renting an already existing building. <br />Scalze inquired about user fees now and the potential <br />interference with existing radio and television lines. <br />Peters said that generally there is no interference, but <br />that some garage door openers and inexpensive telephones <br />have been interrupted. <br />Chlebeck stated that the water tower is 185 feet. <br />Plans were shown to the Council. <br />The Mayor asked if there is enough demand for the station <br />to be successful. <br />Peters said that it is essential to attract other tenants <br />on the tower. <br />Fahey, Blesener, Collova and Scalze are all interested in <br />this idea. The Mayor told them to work with the City <br />property that is available. <br />Addition to Cellular One informed the Council that they have agreed on <br />Agenda the contract with exception to one point. They generally <br />ask for a minimum of 20 years before cancellation, but City <br />put 5 years in the contract. The Cellular One <br />representative said that 15 years was acceptable. <br />Scalze stated that 20 years is not a good idea. <br />Attorney said that they put 5 years in the contract because <br />the tenant has a 5 year right to cancel in their St. Louis <br />Park Contract. <br />Discussion was had amongst the Council members regarding <br />removal of the building. <br />Attorney said 15 years is fine. <br />Page10 <br />
