Discussion caas had in <br /> general as to sites, looking at trying to deEine the mission <br />Agenda of the Committee, c~hich wi11 primarily be worY,ing on <br />Item No. 4 resolving if the Pire Hall and/or City kIall should be moved <br /> to a new site or iE it would be more feasible to add on to <br /> the City Ha11. The Committee ~vi.ll be looking at two Fire <br /> Halls that have recently been built, with an eye to size, <br /> etc, The Cornmittee is also looking at what mode of <br /> financing will be implemented, In connection wa.th that <br /> I'acilities meeting, PRr. Fahey suggested that the City <br /> Council enact a Moratorium Ordinance with the ~-icNamara <br /> property on Centerville Road and Little Canada Roaci, It was <br /> tkie Committee's recommendation that the City look for a <br /> moratorium on that corner to pr~clude any development on <br /> that property (not to exceed the end of this calendar <br /> year>. f~Ir. Sweeney indicated that it ~aould be all right to <br /> do that, 2t is perfect'ly legal ~o enact a moratorium of up <br /> to one year and possible extensions up to 1II months. <br /> P4r. Fahey reported that it is not just the t4cNamara <br /> property, bu~ two other privately owned properties on that <br /> corner. <br />A9r. OF LITTLE CANFIDA ROAD <br />AND CF,IVTERVTLL~ ROAD~ THE P'iCNAMARA PROPERTX AIQD <br />TH~ TWO ADJAC~NT PROPERTIES~ P'OIL THE PURPOSPS OP <br />ENA&LING ~PHF CITX PLANNER~ CITY COUNCIL F1ND <br />PLANNING COP4MISSION TO STUDY THE I'EASI~3ILITY <br />AND/OR DESIRABILITY OF REZONING TIiAT LAND FOR <br />POBLIC US~, SPECIPICALLY E'OR A FTRE IiALL/CITY <br />AALL COPZPLEX <br />Ti~e foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener, <br />Ayes (5) I3lesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared ac~opted. <br />P1r, Pahey indicated that the City should write the property <br />owr.ers that this site is under scrutiny as to the <br />desirability or Peasibility ot- rezoning for relocation of <br />City Ha11 and/or Fire Iiall for ~.he City of Little Canada. <br />Also, that this will not in any affect their ability to sell <br />the property, and that this study will be conducted over the <br />next three months. <br />Page 2 <br />
