nlzNOxas <br />City Council <br />May 10, 1909 <br />North End Mr, Blesener reported on the North End I3usiness Club's <br />Business desire for a charitable gambling license for their gold <br />Club plate dinner to be held at the Venetian Inn. <br />Fundraiser <br /> Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved <br />Agenda its adoption: <br />Item No. 5 <br />R~SOLIJTION_NO, 89-5~196 - APPROVING TH~ NORTH <br />END SUSIN~SS CLUB'S APPLICAT20N FOR F1 GOLD PLATE <br />DINNER TO F3E FIELD AT TI3E VENETIAN INN ON <br />JUNE 110 1989 AND WASVING THE RFQUSRED bVA2`PI1VG <br />PERTOD <br />The foregoing resolution was cluly seconded by ~4r. Collova, <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Co'llova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted, <br />Ron Palmen The plat of Ron Palrnen and his plans Lor bua.lding thereon <br />Plat has caused concern to the Fire Department as relates to the <br />availability of adequate water pressure to serve nine hornes <br />~genda (10 with existing) in case of fire, etc, P~ir, L'ahey read <br />Item No, 6 portions of a letter from our I3uilding pfficial setting out <br />their position of the Palmen subdivision, P~Ir, E~'ahey wen~ on <br />to say that he sees the issue as being fire protection and <br />policy decision by the Council as to whether or not 4~e want <br />to allow subdivisions in the City without having water to <br />the subdivisions. <br />b5r. Fahey then called on Mr, Carley who gave his report on <br />this issue, General discussion soas had by the Council <br />members, Mr. Carley, ~4r. Pa].men and b1r. Weineke, A1r, Palmen <br />wondered if it would be best to have the roads up to grade <br />before the water goes in, P4r. Blesener inquired what the <br />cost of a well was these days. rnr, Palmen said he believed <br />62,900. P~lr, Collova indicated ~hat he believed about <br />53,000. R4r, Carley recommended a water loop; we have a long <br />dead encl line from Edgerton all the way to Arcade Street and <br />he believes ~.he City should pick up the cost of oversizing <br />of the pipes. Mr. Chlebeck said there was a ca11 in for a <br />water main from the east side o£• Edgerton, Mr, Fahey asked <br />Mr, Palmen if he would be willing to sprinlcle the houses he <br />intends to build, hir. Weineke responded that sprinkler <br />systems are installed in all of the "inhabited" rooms oi <br />each house, <br />Mr, Fahey suggested that the <br />c•~ater problems until the next <br />Chief.
