Sca].ze< <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, <br />Nays (0), <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Capitol P~1r. Fahey had invited Dale L3urkland of 916 Vo-Tech, <br />View School Superintendent Worner and John Thein to maice a presentation <br />as to their specific intentions regarding the Capitol View <br />Agenda building, <br />Addition <br />Nlr. 13urland gave a lengthy presentation as to Vo-Tech's <br />background of 20 years as a facility for adult education, <br />special education for the handicapped, etc. Vo-Tech has all <br />the powers, duties and obligations of any other school <br />district. They provide special education programs for nine <br />districts. Roseville is one of those districts, They <br />operate with a nine-member school board. <br />Vo-Tech has had to move their operations from place to place <br />repeatedly and desires to purchase their own facilities in <br />an effort to curtail the process of moving about. They now <br />have to be moved into a new facility in June, as they must <br />vacate their present location by July l, 19II9, <br />Mr, F3urkland repeatedly emphasized their desire to be a <br />"good neighbor" to the community of Little Canada, maintain <br />the property so as to be an attractive addition to Little <br />Canada, and to respectfully work hand-in-hand with the <br />people oE Little Canada in all o£ their dealings, <br />b4r. Fahey, as we11 as other Council members repeatedly <br />emphasized that the City of Little Canada wishes to use the <br />athletic fields and the swimming pool in that building (if <br />opened up) for the citizens of Little Canada, <br />Mr, Burklancl agreed that when the athletic £ields are not in <br />use by the needs of Vo-Tech, the citizens of Little Canada <br />wi11 have access to the athletic fields (which will be <br />maintained by Vo-Tech). Also, if it is cleemed feasible to <br />open up the swimming pool for the students of Vo-Tech, that <br />Page 5 <br />
