r9INUT~S OF TFIF 6~ORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA~ MINNESOTA <br />July 27, 1989 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting <br />of the Council of the Ci~y of Little Canada, Minnesota was <br />held on the 27th day of July, 19II9 in the Council Chambers <br />of the City Hall located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City, <br />Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to <br />order at 7e42 p.m. The following members of the Council <br />were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENTo Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Councilman Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Councilman b1r. Rick Collova <br />P4EMBER ABSENT: Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle <br />ALSO PRESENTa Facilities Chair Mr. Ray FIanson <br />Fire Chief Mr. Frank Graczyk <br />City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman <br />Fire Hall t9r. Fahey indicated that Mr. Hanson would begin by giving <br />the Council a brief summary of why the Facilities Committee <br />came up with the recommendation on the Fire Hall that they <br />did and Mr. Graczyk would then add any comments tha~ he may <br />have on the matter. Additionally, Mr. Grittman had some <br />exhibits he wanted to present. <br />Due to a Eire call, some of the members of the Fire <br />Department had to leave. <br />Mr, Hanson gave some background information on the process <br />the Facilities Committee took in order to reach their <br />recommendation of the Centerville Road site, Mr. Hanson <br />indicated that the Committee based their recommendation on <br />the fact of the nearness in proximity to the residential <br />areas of higher fire incidents, the number of calls the Fire <br />Department responds to on Interstate 35E, the fact that the <br />site ~oas more centrally located, and some of the consensus <br />of input from the Fire Department at this time was that the <br />Fire Hall is as £ar east as it should be. Mr. Hanson also <br />reported that some of the lots in the Centerville Road site <br />are already for sale. <br />Page 1 <br />
