MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />September 6, 1989 <br />The Council discussed the issue of exemptions to <br />organized collection. <br />Collova pointed out that the hauler's have a rate of <br />$8.50 per month for 30-gallon service that senior <br />citizens can take advantage of. Collova felt that <br />organized collection and recycling programs would be <br />difficult to police if exemptions were allowed. <br />Blesener stated that based on the policy that other <br />cities have adopted who have organized collection in <br />place, he would support a no exemption policy. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-9-428 - ADOPTING A POLICY OF <br />NO EXEMPTIONS TO THE CITY'S ORGANIZED COLLECTION <br />PROGRAM <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Blesener suggested that a letter be sent from the City <br />Council to all those residents who have requested <br />exemptions informing them of the Council's decision. <br />ADJOURN Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-9-429 - ADJOURNING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 10:45 P.M. <br />Resp¢ctfully ~~tted, <br />r _ . /p .. y,. ,L`'~ /~.~.. <br />- ~ a~G ~~j'( r <br />~~~~~~2, -~ ~- ~ J <br />athy G1 nzer <br />Recording Secretary <br />Page 19 <br />
