MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />September 13, 1989 <br />ANNOUNCE- Fahey reported that the North Suburban Government <br />MENTS access Channell #16 recently had a total of 64 hours <br />and 45 minutes of programming. Of that time, 25 hours <br />and 30 minutes was programming from the City of Little <br />Canada. Fahey complimented the City's Cable TV <br />Producer Bill Bruce on a job well done. <br />Fahey reported that Don Carley has informed him of his <br />plans to retire as City Engineer at the end of the <br />year. Fahey accepted the resignation with regrets. <br />Fahey reported that the City will need to solicit bids <br />from engineering firms to replace Mr. Carley, and <br />stated that this will be done over the next few months. <br />Scalze reported that the Ramsey County League of Local <br />Governments is sponsoring a bike tour that will begin <br />at Sucker Creek and pass through Little Canada on the <br />way to Lake Phalen. This tour will be held on <br />Saturday, September 16th. Anyone interested in <br />participating can contact City Hall for additional <br />information. <br />Scalze further reported that tomorrow morning, <br />September 14th, the first of the Marketplace Morning <br />Talks will be held at the Fortune Cookie Inn. These <br />talks are sponsored by the City of Little Canada, the <br />School District, Good Neighbor Homes and the <br />Marketplace. The topic tomorrow will be cholesterol. <br />The talks will be held quarterly. <br />DEBACE The Mayor opened the public hearing to consider the <br />CUP application submitted by Jeff DeBace, 138 County Road <br />C, for a conditional use permit to move an existing <br />garage from Rice Street and Country Drive to his <br />property. <br />Fahey pointed out that the Planning Commission has <br />recommended approval of the permit. The Planner has <br />also recommended approval subject to the conditions as <br />outlined in his report. <br />Page 2 <br />
