MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING
CITY COUNCIL
LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA
SEPTEMBER 26, 1989
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop
meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada,
Minnesota was held on the 26th day of September, 1989
in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at
515 Little Canada Road in said City.
Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it
to order at 5:00 P.M. The following members of the
Council were present at roll call:
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey
Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Scalze
Councilman Mr. Bill Blesener
Councilman Mr. Rick Collova
Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle
ALSO PRESENT: Building Insp. Mr. John Palacio
Recreation Mr. Jim Morelan
Deputy Clerk Mrs. Annette Freeman
Rec. Secretary Mrs. Kathy Glanzer
1990 BUDGET Fahey reported that the City Auditor has informed him
that there are surplus monies in the bond retirement
fund and suggested that these funds be used for capital
outlay purchases rather than equipment certificates.
Fahey reported that the Auditor has also suggested that
the City bond for Fire Department needs.
Council then discussed the Public Works
Superintendent's request for funding for the purchase
of a street sweeper during 1990. Blesener suggested
that the City delay such a purchase at this time and
include additional funding in the budget to contract
for sweeping more than once a year.
Collova reported that he discussed the Superintendent's
proposal for the purchase of a street sweeper with a
contractor whose business is in the City, and was
informed that the contractor is selling his sweeper
because it is a very expensive machine to operate and
requires a great deal of maintenance.
Page g
