COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER/ASSISTANT CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />JOB DESCRIPTION <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />f. Creates content for social media communication tools, monitor inquiries, complaints, <br />and comments and responds to routine requests or questions. <br />g. Markets and promotes city services through special events, promotions, community <br />events, public gatherings and related activities. <br />h. Assists in scheduling, coordinating, and attending events and activities that promote the <br />city (e.g. ground breakings, open houses, festivals, grand openings, recreation events). <br />i. Prepares written communication to the public, makes presentations to resident and <br />community groups, neighborhood associations, business groups, etc. <br /> <br />4. Community Engagement: <br />a. Works with stakeholders to promote and enhance all levels of community engagement. <br />b. Manages the City’s ongoing community engagement efforts to obtain resident feedback. <br />c. Develops community outreach programs to embrace the community’s diversity and <br />champions efforts to positively impact diversity, equity and inclusion in Little Canada. <br />d. Builds trust and relationships with various groups, stakeholders and residents in the <br />community. <br />e. Enhance and expand community partnerships. <br />5. Organizational Management <br />a. The Community Relations Manager/Assistant City Administrator may be appointed to serve <br />as the Acting City Administrator in the absence of the City Administrator. <br />b. Provides positive leadership to city governmental activities and programs in a manner <br />conducive to full performance and high morale. <br />c. Provide training and support to enhance professional and leadership development competency. <br />d. Performs liaison activities between various departments, community and business <br />organizations, the City Council, other units of government and professional associations. <br />e. Responds to inquiries concerning city policies and business, and other pertinent information <br />and sees that complaints are properly handled through appropriate channels. <br />f. Assists with human resources. <br />g. Lead staff for IT/computer operations. <br />h. Provides support staff services for department heads such as personnel administration, capital <br />improvement planning, insurance matters, purchasing, research assignments, computer/IT <br />operations and complaints. <br />i. Acts as a resource and works closely with other city employees to accomplish the daily work <br />assignments necessary to achieve good governance. <br />6. Strategic Functions <br />a. Assists with the preparation and management of the city’s Strategic Plan.
