<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Position Title: Public Works Supervisor – Utilities <br />Department: Public Works <br />Accountable To: Public Works Director <br />Positions Supervised: Public Works Maintenance 1 & 2 <br />Status: Full-time, Non-exempt <br />Pay Grade: Grade 8 <br />Reviewed: November 2024 <br />_______________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br /> <br />Supervises crews and works on crew in maintenance of sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer systems. <br />Supervises and works on City’s Geographic Information System. Assists Public Works Director with <br />scheduling of manpower and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Public Works <br />Department. Performs other duties as assigned by the Public Works Director. <br /> <br />MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 1. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of maintaining the sanitary <br />sewer, water, and storm sewer systems. <br /> <br />2. Establish schedules and methods for providing utility maintenance services; identify resource <br />needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly. <br /> <br />3. Survey the City’s utility systems to determine maintenance needs and establish preventive <br />maintenance programs as required. <br /> <br />4. Encourage and engage in daily communications with staff to effectively achieve department <br />objectives. <br /> <br />5. Manage the City’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) field maintenance inspection <br />and maintenance program. <br /> <br />6. Order materials and supplies required in the construction, maintenance, and repair of utility <br />infrastructure. <br /> <br />7. Manage the City’s water meter program including ordering meters and associated equipment, <br />repairing and replacing meters, testing meters, and reading meters. <br /> <br />8. Manage the City’s utility service inspection program, including water and sewer service <br />installation inspections. <br /> <br />9. Manage and participate in the collection of data for the City’s Geographic Information System <br />(GIS). <br />
