MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
September 27, 1989
first of the year. Stanke also pointed out that as
part of the project, he will be sprinkling the entire
building, including the new addition and existing
building.
The City Planner stated that the City can require a
bond for the landscaping and agreed that the occupancy
permit for the addition can be held until blacktop is
installed. The Planner noted the concensus of the
Council that blacktop should be installed to within 30
feet of Ryan Drive.
Fahey requested that Stanke submit a plan showing the
areas to be blacktopped.
Fahey asked if there was anyone from the general public
present wishing to comment on this matter. There was
not.
Collova pointed out that Stanke will be blacktopping in
the spring and suggested that if an occupany permit is
needed for the building prior to the blacktop being
installed, the City could require a bond for the
blacktop at that time.
Fahey suggested that the landscape plan be subject to
the approval of the City Planner.
The Planner noted that the City's ordinance does not
require that a storage yard in an industrial area be
screened from view of the street.
Council and Stanke discussed the vehicles that are on
the site, with Stanke pointing out that the business
that occupies the site is an automobile restoration
business. Stanke pointed out that all vehicles are
kept within the fenced-in area of the property.
The Planner noted that this type of business is not
unusual in an industrial park of this nature.
Stanke stated that he preferred not to install slats in
his fence because he felt that vandalism problems would
be increased if the storage area were not visible.
Scalze suggested that landscaping will improve the
appearance of the site.
Page 8
