<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Position Title: Buildings & Stormwater Supervisor – Public Works <br />Department: Public Works <br />Accountable To: Public Works Director <br />Status: Full-time, Non-exempt <br />Pay Grade: Grade 8 <br />Reviewed: February 2025 <br />_______________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br /> <br />Supervises crews and works on buildings maintenance and capital improvement projects. Works on city’s <br />MS4 permit and other grounds-related maintenance city-wide. Assists Public Works Director with <br />scheduling of manpower and equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Public Works <br />Department. Oversees City’s use of asset management software and keeps all public works staff up to <br />date on software. <br /> <br />Performs duties of Maintenance II position outside of buildings and grounds work. Assists in the <br />maintenance of streets, parks and grounds, municipal water and sewer systems involving the use of <br />manual labor and the operation of all Public Works equipment. Performs semi-skilled and unskilled work <br />in the maintenance and repair of municipal water, sewer, street, and park systems. Performs other duties <br />and responsibilities as needed. <br /> <br />Positions at this level are distinguished from the Maintenance Worker 1 level by the performance of the <br />full range of duties as assigned, working independently and exercising judgement and initiative. Positions <br />at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are <br />fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. This position should have the skills <br />to exercise technical and functional supervision over lower-level staff. <br /> <br />MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 1. Buildings <br />a. Assist in the management of city Capital Improvement Projects, including planning, <br />construction, budget, cost estimates, and schedules. <br />b. Participate in procurement bidding and request for quotes. <br />c. Prepare contract documents and specifications, request and work through change orders, and <br />assist in execution of required documents. <br />d. Act as liaison on projects between contractors, sub-contractors, owners, architects, engineers, <br />inspectors, and others. <br />e. Attend construction meetings as needed for each project to discuss project and schedule. <br />f. Inspect progress on projects and installations during and after construction to determine need <br />for corrections or alterations.
