37 | Page <br />City of Little Canada Housing Study - 2025 <br />Map 4 – Median Household Income by 2023 Block Groups <br /> <br />The Block Group at Rice Street and Little Canada Drive has the highest median age (Map 2) and <br />the lowest median income ($43,000 per year). This area includes several senior-only <br />developments, which may explain the lower household income levels, as discussed in the <br />Population Demographics chapter. <br /> <br />Map 5 illustrates housing cost burden rates, defined as the percentage of residents spending more <br />than 30% of their income on housing. Western Little Canada has the highest concentration of <br />cost-burdened households, while eastern neighborhoods generally have lower rates. This pattern <br />aligns with income distributions, as higher-income areas east of I-35E have a lower share of cost- <br />burdened households. <br />
