1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />City of Little Canada Community Inclusion Report <br />Acknowledgments <br />Together, we can create a city that welcomes and includes all community members. <br />To be successful, welcoming and inclusion work must be collaborative and community-wide. The <br />City of Little Canada’s inclusion efforts were developed with the intent to receive broad community <br />involvement to better understand the needs of the community we serve. <br /> <br />The City of Little Canada extends gratitude and thanks to the community members who <br />volunteered their time to serve on the Community Inclusion Team. The Inclusion Team is a <br />dedicated group of diverse community members who came together to better understand <br />the needs of the Little Canada community around welcoming and inclusion. We thank you for your <br />involvement and contribution to these efforts. <br /> <br />Thank you to the community members who shared their lived experiences with us through the <br />external inclusion survey. Additionally, we thank those business owners and community partners <br />who participated and shared insights through individual stakeholder interviews. <br /> <br />Finally, we thank the City Council and city staff who participated in the Community Inclusion Team <br />process. The support of the City Council through strategic planning initiatives around inclusion has <br />been invaluable in progressing this work. <br />Executive Summary <br />The City of Little Canada is committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. This <br />report summarizes key findings from several community engagement efforts, including a city-wide <br />survey, individual stakeholder interviews, and youth engagement sessions at Little Canada <br />Elementary School. This Community Inclusion Report identifies themes around welcoming and <br />inclusion. The purpose of this report is to serve as information for the city’s 2025 Strategic Planning <br />process. <br /> <br />Little Canada Demographics <br />• Race: Predominantly White (62.7%) with Asian (13.6%) and Black (8.4%) population <br />• Hispanic or Latino Origin: 11.9% are of Hispanic or Latino origin <br />• Age: 23.6% are under 18; 6.8% are 75 and older <br />• Language: 26.2% speak a language other than English at home <br />• Income & Education: Median household income is $71,370; 91.1% have a high school <br />diploma or higher
