MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />October 11, 1989 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 11th day of October, 1989 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it <br />to order at 6:00 P.M. The following members o£ the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Councilman Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Councilman Mr. Rick Collova <br />Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle <br />ALSO PRESENT: Rec. Secretary Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />CITY Jim Brimeyer, Sathe & Associates, appeared before the <br />ADMINISTRATOR Council with regard to the search his firm is <br />POSITION conducting for the City Administrator position. <br />Brimeyer reported that he sent 20 to 25 letters of <br />solicitation to individuals informing them of the <br />position, and received 12 to 15 responses. Sathe & <br />Associates also advertised the position in both the <br />Pioneer Press and Minneapolis Tribune. A total of <br />approximately 65 applications were received. Brimeyer <br />reported that two local individuals had submitted <br />resumes, however, both have withdrawn due to <br />opportunities that were offered them in their present <br />positions. <br />Brimeyer outlined the process which his firm goes <br />through in reviewing applications, and reported that he <br />met with approximately 20 of the applicants. That <br />group was required to complete a form testing their <br />writing abilities, and Brimeyer reported that he <br />completed an evaluation form on each individual after <br />his interview. Of the group of 20, Brimeyer submitted <br />to the Council a summary form on each of whom he felt <br />to be the top ten applicants. Brimeyer then proceeded <br />to review these summary forms with the Councilmembers. <br />Page 1 <br />
