MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA October 11, 1989 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 11th day of October, 1989 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to order at 6:00 P.M. The following members o£ the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Scalze Councilman Mr. Bill Blesener Councilman Mr. Rick Collova Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle ALSO PRESENT: Rec. Secretary Mrs. Kathy Glanzer CITY Jim Brimeyer, Sathe & Associates, appeared before the ADMINISTRATOR Council with regard to the search his firm is POSITION conducting for the City Administrator position. Brimeyer reported that he sent 20 to 25 letters of solicitation to individuals informing them of the position, and received 12 to 15 responses. Sathe & Associates also advertised the position in both the Pioneer Press and Minneapolis Tribune. A total of approximately 65 applications were received. Brimeyer reported that two local individuals had submitted resumes, however, both have withdrawn due to opportunities that were offered them in their present positions. Brimeyer outlined the process which his firm goes through in reviewing applications, and reported that he met with approximately 20 of the applicants. That group was required to complete a form testing their writing abilities, and Brimeyer reported that he completed an evaluation form on each individual after his interview. Of the group of 20, Brimeyer submitted to the Council a summary form on each of whom he felt to be the top ten applicants. Brimeyer then proceeded to review these summary forms with the Councilmembers. Page 1
