MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />November 8, 1989 <br />FIRE Fahey reported that the Fire Chief has sugqested that <br />HYDRANTS there be an ordinance in effect that allows the City <br />access to inspect and service fire hydrants located on <br />private property. Fahey also reported that the <br />ordinance should address fire hydrants that people have <br />in yards as ornaments requiring that these hydrants not <br />be located in front yards or in a manner where the Fire <br />Department could confuse them for a hydrant that is in <br />service. Fahey suggested that such hydrants could be <br />required to be painted a color other than red. This <br />would notify the Fire Department of their ornamental <br />use. <br />Fahey requested that the City Attorney comment on these <br />issues at the next meeting. <br />CITIES Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />AGAINST its adoption: <br />DRUGS WEEK <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-11-559 - DECLARING THE WEEK OF <br />DECEMBER 3-9, 1989 AS CITIES FIGHT BACK AGAINST DRUGS <br />WEEK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, 5calze, Collova, LaValle, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />PARK REPORT Scalze reported that installation of the playground <br />equipment in Spooner Park has been completed. Also, <br />the trail connectinq Spooner Park and Pioneer Park is <br />completed with the exception of some sodding that will <br />be finished in the Spring. <br />Scalze reported that the fence separating the Quality <br />Asphalt property and Pioneer Park has been installed, <br />and the City has received the money from Quality <br />Asphalt for their share of the cost. <br />WATER TOWER Mr. Blesener reported that repair of the City's water <br />tower has been completed, and the tower is full and <br />back in operation. <br />ADJOURN Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />Page 18 <br />
