MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />November 8, 1989 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-11-557 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR AND PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT TO <br />PREPARE A JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION BEING <br />VACATED BY MR. DRAKE, AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT <br />OF THAT POSITION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. <br />Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey suggested that part-time personnel employeed with <br />the City not be given preference for this position, and <br />that all applicants be considered on the basis of their <br />experience. <br />Blesener agreed that the position should be given to <br />the most qualified applicant, but noted that an <br />applicant should not be disqualified from consideration <br />because they are a part-time employee of the City. <br />WELCOME TO At this point in the meeting, the Council welcomed the <br />CITY City's new Administrator, Mr. Joel R. Hanson, and <br />ADMINIS- introduced him to the City's consultants and the <br />TRATOR viewing public. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89-11-558 - AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE THE CITY'S EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT WITH MR. JOEL R. <br />HANSON AS CITY ADMINISTRATOR WITH A STARTING DATE OF <br />DECEMBER 11, 1989, AS PREPARED BY SATHE & ASSOCIATES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. <br />Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 17 <br />
