MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
December 27, 1989
Blesener pointed out that the Council previously
discussed with Boarman & Associates that a two-story
combination fire station/city center would not be
feasible because parking would need to be shared, and
these two parkinq uses would not blend.
Scalze suggested that a two-story fire station might be
more economical, pointing out that meeting rooms could
be constructed on the second story.
Fahey suggested that the City Administrator have
Boarman & Associates look at the issue of a two-story
fire station and at ways to reduce the projected costs.
LaValle suggested that an elevator might be necessary
for a two-story fire station.
The City Administrator pointed out the $500,000
estimate for City Center expansion, asking if the
sources of money identified are acceptable, or if there
are other committed uses of that money. If acceptable,
the Administrator recommended that the City establish a
City Center Capital Account.
Council agreed with the Administrator's recommendation.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 89-12-627 - AUTHORIZING THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF A CITY CENTER CAPITAL FUND AND
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO THAT ACCOUNT AS
RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Scalze, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
PLANNING The Council noted that effective January l, 1990 there
COMMISSION are four vacancies on the Planninq Commission, three
APPOINTMENTS with terms of three years, and one with a two year
term.
