MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
January 10, 1990
at the northwest corner of South Owasso Blvd. and
Country Drive. DeBace reported that he has changed his
plans from what was previously presented to the Council
and is proposing a split-face block building with a
metal mansur roof. DeBace also presented a landscaping
plan for the site. DeBace reported that there will be
24 parking spaces on site. DeBace pointed out that the
City Planner has recommended that landscaping proposed
along the boulevard be moved onto the property, and
this is not a problem.
Fahey reviewed the Planner's report dated January 10,
1990, pointing out that the plan as revised appears to
be acceptable. It was pointed out that the Council
reviews site plans for development within the I-P
District, and once approved by the Council the plans go
to the Building Inspector for his review and approval.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 90-1-9 - APPROVING THE SITE PLAN FOR A
9,000 SQUARE FOOT RETAIL/COMMERCIAL BUILDING TO BE
CONSTRUCTED AT TAE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SOUTH OWASSO
BLVD. AND COUNTRY DRIVE AS SUBMITTED BY MR. BOB DEBACE
AND MR. GORDIE HOWE ON JANUARY 10, 1990 WITH THE
BUILDING TO BE CONSTRUCTED OF CONCRETE BLOCK WITH
APPROVAL CONTINGENT UPON COMPLIANCE WITH THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF TAE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS
REPORT DATED JANUARY 10, 1990 AND SUBJECT TO THE
BUILDING MEETING THE STANDARDS OF THE I-P DISTRICT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Scalze, LaValle, Blesener, Collova, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
DeBace reported that Code allows a sign up to 20 feet
in height at this particular site. DeBace reported
that he would be studying the sign height needed, as it
may not be necessary to have a sign 20 feet in height.
Fahey pointed out that as long as the sign meets the
requirements of the Ordinance, that issue can be worked
out with the Building Inspector rather than the
Council.
DeBace reported that he may need Tax Increment
Financing assistance to make the project feasible due
Page 11
