MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />January 10, 1990 <br />Council does not have an opportunity to approve or deny <br />the application. <br />Fahey asked if LaValle was suggesting that a criminal <br />penalty be attached if a gambling function takes place <br />without a permit. <br />The City Attorney reported that it is already a <br />criminal violation if an organization is operating a <br />gambling function without applying for the necessary <br />permits. <br />LaValle suggested that he discuss his suggestion for an <br />administration fee with the City Attorney. <br />Fahey agreed and suggested that LaValle bring the <br />matter back to the Council if need be. <br />1990 Council reviewed the proposals submitted by the North <br />APPOINTMENTS Suburban Press and Lillie Suburban News for 1990 legal <br />& newspaper designation. Scalze pointed out that based <br />DESIGNATIONS on the fact that the Lillie Suburban is not received in <br />all areas of the City, the North Suburban Press should <br />be appointed. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-11 - DESIGNATING THE NORTH SUBURBAN <br />PRESS AS THE CITY'S LEGAL NEWSPAPER FOR 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaValle, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-12 - DESIGNATING FIRST BANK <br />NATIONAL ASSOCIATION-LITTLE CANADA AS TAE CITY'S <br />DEPOSITORY FOR ITS CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR THE YEAR 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 13 <br />
