MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />January 10, 1990 <br />Blesener agreed, pointing out that the City economized <br />when constructing the City Center, and this building is <br />no longer adequate to meet the City's needs. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoptions <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-2 - INSTRUCTING AND AUTHORIZING <br />JURAN & MOODY, THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR, AND CITY STAFF <br />TO PROCEED WITH THE ISSUANCE OF A$1.5 MILLION BOND <br />ISSUE FOR ACQU=SITION OF LAND AND FINANCING OF <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FIRE STATION ACCEPTING THE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR AS CONTAINED <br />IN HIS REPORT DATED JANUARY 10, 1990 AND RESERVING <br />FINAL APPROVAL OF BUILDING PLANS, DESIGN AND COST BY <br />TAE CITY COUNCIL, AND FURTHER DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO <br />PREPARE AN INVENTORY OF EXCESS CITY PROPERTIES AND <br />BUILDINGS FOR POTENTIAL DISPOSITION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-1-3 - AUTHORIZING TAE PREPARATION OF <br />A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE SALE OF $1.5 MILLION OF <br />REVENUE BONDS ON JANUARY 24, 1990 TO BE AWARDED AT 7:30 <br />P.M. THAT EVENING <br />The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted, <br />Blesener asked if the decrease in the prime rate will <br />effect the issue. <br />Farnham replied that it will effect the issue, noting <br />that interest rates have been falling and the timing <br />for issuance of this issue and the marketplace are <br />excellent. <br />Fahey asked if Farnham had knowledge of whether or not <br />the City could save money on the project by doing its <br />own construction management. <br />Page 5 <br />
