MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
January 10, 1990
or $16,345. The Engineer reported that one contractor
will grade and install gravel base for the entire
street.
Fahey asked if the grading and base will be done to
City specifications.
Collova asked if the street needed to be paved before a
certificate of occupancy could be issued for the home.
The City Engineer replied that grading and base would
be done to City specifications. The Engineer thought
that the certificate of occupancy should be issued
after utilities, curbing and paving are completed.
Council discussed the timing for installation of
bituminous, and it was the concensus of the Council
that it would be better not to rush this phase.
Scalze asked how it was determined that the City~s
share of qrading and gravel base was 35%.
The City Engineer pointed out that from looking at the
plat there is about two-thirds of the street up to the
model home, with one-third of the street extending
beyond that point.
Collova asked if the cost of grading and gravel base
was reasonable.
Boosalis reported that he obtained three bids for the
project, and the prices quoted were from the low bid.
The Engineer also pointed out that the City's share of
the cost will be assessed back against the benefiting
properties.
Dr. Krienke asked to see a copy of the final plat,
which was given to him for review.
Bill Souchy, County Road C resident, reported that
there are surveyor stakes within his property lines.
Souchy was concerned that the misplacement of these
stakes would result in the loss of trees on his
property.
The City Engineer explained that the discrepancy in
legal descriptions will need to be resolved at the
County level when the final plat is presented to the
County surveyor.
Page 9
