MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />February 14, 1990 <br />Fahey agreed and pointed out that the Economic <br />Development Committee has already authorized this next <br />step. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-2-68 - AUTHORIZING BUSINESS <br />DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO PROCEED TO PUT TOGETHER A <br />DEVELOPMENT PACKAGE FOR THE CENTERVILLE ROAD AREA <br />SIMILAR TO WHAT WAS DONE IN THE COUNTRY DRIVE AREA, SO <br />THAT REMAINING I-P PROPERTIES CAN BE DEVELOPED IN A <br />UNIFIED MANNER IN ACCORDINANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION <br />AND PLAN SET FORTH IN BDS~S LETTER DATED FEBRUARY 7, <br />1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUBLIC Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider Improvement <br />HEARING No. 89-23, improvement of Country Drive from Little <br />IMP. N0. Canada Road to South Owasso Blvd. by grading, sanitary <br />89-23 sewer, storm sewer, gravel base, bituminous surface and <br />COUNTRY DR. concrete curb and gutter in accordance with Municipal <br />State Aid Standards. <br />The City Engineer reported that the improvement would <br />actually extend from the Water Works right-of-way to <br />South Owasso Blvd. Estimated cost of the improvement <br />is $452,500.00. This same improvement was considered <br />two years ago at an estimated cost of $420,000. <br />However, the Council delayed the improvement in order <br />to study possible relocation of Country Drive to the <br />Condit Street area as well as the possibility of <br />lowering the street by several feet. After study, <br />these two options have been dropped, and the original <br />improvement is now back before the Council. <br />The Engineer reported that he has met with the City <br />Auditor on financing of the improvement, and it has <br />been determined that State Aid funds could be used to <br />pay two-thirds of the cost, while the remaining third <br />would be assessed against the benefiting properties. <br />That would result in an assessment against property <br />owners of approximately $68 per front foot. <br />The Engineer reported the improvement would increase <br />Page 4 <br />
