MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />March 14, 1990 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-3-124 - ADOPTING THE 1990 WATER <br />BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $585,627 WITH 1990 WATER RATES <br />TO REMAIN AT $1.50 PER TAOUSAND GALLONS AND THE WATER <br />AVAILABILITY CHARGE TO REMAIN AT $11.50 PER QUARTER <br />BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Fahey, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Public Works Superintendent reviewed in detail the <br />proposed 1990 Sewer Budget which totaled $565,180.00. <br />The Superintendent reported that due to increases in <br />sewer treatment charges, the City's Sewer Department <br />was $30,000 over budget during 1989. Therefore, the <br />Superintendent recommended that the City's quarterly <br />sewer charge be increased from $29.00 to $32.50 for <br />residential and from $1.60 per thousand gallons used to <br />$1.70 per thousand gallons used for commercial. The <br />Superintendent pointed out that sewer rates have not <br />been increased since 1987. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-3-125 - ADOPTING THE 1990 SEWER <br />BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $565,180.00 AND INCREASING 1990 <br />SEWER RATES TO $32.50 PER QUARTER FOR RESIDENTIAL AND <br />$1.70 PER THOUSAND GALLONS FOR COMMERCIAL AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Collova, Scalze, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />RECYCLING The Public Works Superintendent submitted for Council <br />GRANT approval an agreement between Ramsey County and the <br />City of Little Canada for a recycling grant. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-3-126 - APPROVING THE RECYCLING GRANT <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY AND CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO <br />SIGN THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />Page 17 <br />
