MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
March 14, 1990
City street. Collova felt it important to retain the
pattern that has been established to keep people
participating.
LITTLE CANADA Fahey reported that the School District has requested
SCHOOL that the City waive its 2% administration fee charged
PARKING LOT in conjunction with the parking lot improvement at
IMPROVEMENT Little Canada Elementary School. The School District
claims that there was a verbal agreement to waive this
fee, although Fahey and Collova could not remember such
an agreement.
The City Administrator reported that the City's Auditor
informed him that this administrative fee has been
charged by the City in past improvement projects as a
matter of policy.
Fahey also reported that the School District is
requesting that the City waive the interest that it
charged on the balance of unpaid assessments indicating
that the School District would have paid the full
assessment amount, however, the City was unable to
provide the exact figures.
The City Administrator pointed out that the rational in
charging the School District the interest is that the
School District had the money to work with, while the
City could not earn interest on the outstanding
balance.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 90-3-130 - GIVEN THE COOPERATIVE NATURE
OF THE LITTLE CANADA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROJECT AS
REGARDS THE GYMNASIUM IMPROVEMENT AS A COMMUNITY
CENTER, THE CITY COUNCIL HEREBY WAIVES THE 2%
ADMINISTRATIVE FEE CHARGED AS PART OF THE IMPROVEMENT,
BUT RETAINS THE INTEREST THAT WAS CHARGED FOR THE
UNPAID ASSESSMENT BALANCES
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Collova, Scalze, Blesener, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
ADJOURN Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
Page 20
