MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 14, 1990
The City Administrator pointed out that if this
business was in existence prior to adoption of the
Zoning Code, the business would be grandfathered in.
The Council felt that once Mr. Johnson retires, the
City should require the property to be cleaned up.
Again, Council felt that some policies should be
established for dealing with code violations.
Violators should be informed of their alternatives for
bringing violations into conformance, including the
fact that the City will have junk cars removed from the
property at the property owner's expense if all else
fails.
The Administrator reported that City staff will look at
the Ordinance and determine if the City has the
authority to have junk cars removed. Staff can inform
property owners by letter that they must brinq their
violations into conformance or the City will tag the
property. If the matter is not resolved through the
court system, the City will abate the problem.
Collova suggested that in preparation for the workshop
meeting with the Planning Commission, the Council get
some definitions on the role of planning commissions.
ADJOURN There being no further business, the workshop was
adjourned at 7:18 P.M.
, - j ,
~>>'~ ~~•.ti 4'
~ ~,:.: ~it.r~.k.,, ;r.~~ ~i v~..%,~~.t,~
P~' icl~ael I~ahey y.
~-~ Mayor ~'~
~
Attest: ,.~~ ? fi„''~
~ ~< /C ~ ,~/rs.,l. ~.._ __ ra
~ Jo~...~anson
'Clerk Administrator
Page 4
