MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />March 28, 1990 <br />RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS <br />REPORT DATED MARCH 5, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Fahey, Collova, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />SLUMBERLAND Mayor Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the <br />SIGN application submitted by Slumberland, 3060 Centerville <br />VARIANCE Road, for a variance to the City's Sign Ordinance for <br />pylon sign height and area. <br />Fahey noted that the Planning Commission recommended <br />denial of the variance request since they did not <br />believe that a hardship existed to warrant a variance. <br />Kaufman replied that in respect to the recommendation <br />of the Planning Commission, Slumberland withdraws their <br />sign variance request. <br />Blesener asked the location of the proposed sign. <br />Kaufman replied that the corporate office sign is <br />proposed to go on the corner of the sidewalk leading to <br />the corporate office. <br />FUEL ECONOMY Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the <br />VARIANCE FOR application submitted by Fuel Economy for a variance <br />ACCESSORY to allow the construction of accessory storage <br />STORAGE buildings in excess of the square footage allowed by <br />Code. Fahey reviewed the Planning Commission's <br />recommendation that the matter be addressed through a <br />text amendment increasing the amount of allowable <br />accessory storage area in the Industrial District. <br />The City Planner reviewed his recommendation as <br />contained in his report dated March 5, 1990 that the <br />City amend the code to increase the amount of allowable <br />accessory storage area equal to the size of the <br />principle building. <br />Scalze suggested that a text amendment also address the <br />amount of road frontage in anticipation of possible <br />property divisions where a property owner would want to <br />divide property and sell accessory buildingse <br />Page 5 <br />
