MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 2~ 1990 <br />Mr. Grieman, the property owner, reported that Mr. Howe <br />would be reimbursed for his time and costs. <br />Blesener stated that he had concern that the site was <br />not a good residential site since it is located between <br />two freeways, and believed the EMC proposal was in the <br />City's best long-range interests. <br />Collova felt the property could go either way, but <br />stated that he felt the EMC proposal was a better use <br />of the property. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-158 - CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25, 1990, AT 7:30 P.M. TO CONSIDER <br />THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A TAX INCREMENT FINANCING DISTRICT <br />IN CONJUNCTION WITx THE EMC CORPORATION PROPOSAL AND <br />CONSIDERING THE ENLARGEMENT OF THE EXISTING DEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT, AND FORWARDING THE MATTER TO THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION FOR THEIR REVIEW AND COMMENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey instructed the City staff to get the appropriate <br />information to the Planning Commission for their review <br />at their April 5th meeting. Collova suggested that the <br />City Administrator prepare a letter summarizing the <br />proposal for the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-159 - AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF, AS <br />NECESSARY, ALONG WITH BOND COUNSEL AND BUSINE55 <br />DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY TO PROCEED WITH WHATEVER IS <br />NECESSARY IN CONNECTION WITH THE PROPOSED EMC <br />CORPORATION PROJECT INCLUDING PREPARATION OF THE <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A TIF DISTIRCT <br />AND PREPARATION OF A LETTER OF INTENT WITA THE <br />DEVELOPER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Page 4 <br />
