MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />April 11, 1990 <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-182 - CLOSING THE 1983 EQUIPMENT <br />CERTIFICATES FUND TO THE CLOSED BOND FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Collova, Scalze, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-183 - TRANSFERRING MONIES FROM THE <br />GENERAL FUND TO THE ASSESSABLE INTERIM CONSTRUCTION <br />FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-184 - CLOSING THE IMPROVEMENT BONDS <br />OF 1987 CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />CABLE TV Blesener reported that in 1984 the Federal government <br />deregulated Cable TV since the Cable TV companies <br />presented to the Government that they were not <br />monopolies and that there were other forms of <br />entertainment available. Since that time, Cable TV <br />rates have risen 40 percent. Blesener also pointed out <br />that more and more sports programs are being put on <br />Cable. Therefore, it is the recommendation of the <br />Cable TV Commission that the councils of each of the <br />member cities pass a resolution requesting the Federal <br />Government to regulate the cable companies in terms of <br />cost and open the ability of the cities to grant <br />additional franchises. <br />Page 20 <br />
