MINUTES CITY COUNCIL April 11, 1990 Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-185 - URGING SUPPORT FOR THE RESTORATION OF LOCAL REGULATORY AUTAORITY OVER CABLE TELEVISION SYSTEMS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. Ayes (4) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova. Nays (o). Resolution declared adopted. STREET Blesener reviewed the recommendation of the Public SWEEPING Works Superintendent to award the street sweeping QUOTATIONS quotation submitted by Mike McPhillips, Inc. in the amount of $52.75 per hour. It was noted that the McPhillips quotation is not the low quote, with Foss Sweeping submitting the low quotation. However, the Superintendent is recommending that the second low quote submitted by McPhillips be awarded based on past experience with Foss Sweeping. Collova noted that the Superintendent has indicated that McPhillips could begin sweeping in the next couple of days, and Collova recommended that sweeping be delayed a couple of weeks until the threat of additional snow has lessened. LaValle suggested that if the City has not been happy with the performance of Foss Sweeping in the past, that firm should not have been requested to submit a quote. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptionc RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-186 - AWARDING THE QUOTATION OF MIKE MCPHILLIPS, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $52.75 PER HOUR FOR SWEEPING CITY STREETS WHICA WAS NOT THE LOW QUOTATION BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT BASED ON PAST CITY EXPERIENCE WITH THE LOW BIDDER AND WITH THE INDICATION TAAT SWEEPING NOT BE BEGUN UNTIL MAY 1ST The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Collova.
