MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 1990 <br />CIGARETTE The City Attorney submitted for Council approval <br />LICENSE FEE a proposed ordinance allowing the cigarette license fee <br />to be amended by Council resolution. It was noted that <br />City staff is recommending that the annual cigarette <br />license fee be increased from $12 to $25. The $12 fee <br />was established under statutory provisions in 1941. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following ordinance and <br />moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE NO. 331 - AMENDING SECTION 802.060 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, RELATING <br />TO THE ANNUAL CIGARETTE LICENSE FEE <br />The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (1) LaValle. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />LaValle stated that he was opposed to a fee increase <br />for City businesses. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-210 - INCREASING THE ANNUAL <br />CIGARETTE LICENSE FEE FROM $12 TO $25 FOR THE LICENSE <br />PERIOD BEGINNING JULY 1, 1990 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (3) Blesener, Scalze, Collova. <br />Nays (2) Fahey, LaValle. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey stated that based on the results of the survey of <br />surrounding cities, he felt the license fee should be <br />established at the average of what these cities are <br />charging, or $18 annually. <br />TWO S The City Attorney presented to the Council revisions to <br />PROPERTIES the Two S Properties PUD Agreement which would allow <br />PUD AGREEMENT for the sale of the property without Council approval. <br />The current PUD Agreement includes this requirement. <br />The City Attorney pointed out that regardless of <br />whether the Council has prior approval in the sale of <br />the property, the new property owners would be subject <br />to the provisions of the PUD Agreement. <br />Page 12 <br />
