MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 25, 1990 CIGARETTE The City Attorney submitted for Council approval LICENSE FEE a proposed ordinance allowing the cigarette license fee to be amended by Council resolution. It was noted that City staff is recommending that the annual cigarette license fee be increased from $12 to $25. The $12 fee was established under statutory provisions in 1941. Mr. Blesener introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 331 - AMENDING SECTION 802.060 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, RELATING TO THE ANNUAL CIGARETTE LICENSE FEE The foregoing ordinance was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey. Nays (1) LaValle. Resolution declared adopted. LaValle stated that he was opposed to a fee increase for City businesses. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-4-210 - INCREASING THE ANNUAL CIGARETTE LICENSE FEE FROM $12 TO $25 FOR THE LICENSE PERIOD BEGINNING JULY 1, 1990 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (3) Blesener, Scalze, Collova. Nays (2) Fahey, LaValle. Resolution declared adopted. Fahey stated that based on the results of the survey of surrounding cities, he felt the license fee should be established at the average of what these cities are charging, or $18 annually. TWO S The City Attorney presented to the Council revisions to PROPERTIES the Two S Properties PUD Agreement which would allow PUD AGREEMENT for the sale of the property without Council approval. The current PUD Agreement includes this requirement. The City Attorney pointed out that regardless of whether the Council has prior approval in the sale of the property, the new property owners would be subject to the provisions of the PUD Agreement.
