MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 25, 1990
COUNTY ROAD D FROM ARCADE STREET TO 0.35 MILES EAST VIA
PAVEMENT RECYCLING AND OVERLAY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
CENTRE PLACE The City Engineer reported that a homeowner adjacent to
the Centre Place improvement feels that the lots as
being developed adjacent to his property are too high.
Staff and some members of the Council looked at the
site and came to the concensus that 2 to 4 feet of fill
should be removed. The Engineer reported that he is
currently working with the developer and his engineer
on this issue, and there should be a response by early
next week. At this time only the rough grading of the
Centre Place site has been completed, and the Engineer
anticipated that some corrective measures can be made.
Fahey agreed that corrective measures were needed,
pointing out the six foot increase in grade behind the
Osland property on Iona Lane.
Scalze was very disappointed that the Centre Place
developers destroyed the existing trees on their site,
Fahey stated that he would like to see 4 to 6 feet of
fill removed behind the Osland and Pierce propertiese
The City Engineer pointed out that to lower the site
more than 4 feet will effect the roadway as well as
other lots, and would cause the regrading of the entire
development. The Engineer pointed out that there are
some limitations involved.
Fahey felt the City should push for the maximum while
allowing the project to work.
The Engineer pointed out that house pads are required
at 18 inches to 2 feet above street grade. The
developer overextended the placement of fill and the
Engineer felt it to his benefit to reduce the fill on
Lot 8.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
Page 15
