MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 1990 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 90-4-215 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER <br />AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS <br />WITHIN THEIR DISCRETION TO AMEND THE GRADING PLAN FOR <br />THE CENTRE PLACE PLAT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE <br />CONCERN EXPRESSED BY AN ADJACENT IONA LANE PROPERTY <br />OWNER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey expressed concern to the developer about the loss <br />of trees from the Centre Place site. <br />Blesener pointed out that the contours had to be <br />changed within some parts of the plat in order to get <br />buildable lots. <br />Nick Boosalis, developer of the plat, pointed out that <br />he had to work within the confines of his site with <br />grading. <br />Collova asked if the grade was going to be cut from <br />just one of the lots. <br />Fahey replied that the grade needs to be lowered on two <br />lots, those adjacent to the Osland and Pierce <br />properties on Iona Lane, <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the emphasis <br />will be on the east end of the site, tying the Centre <br />Place grades into those of the surrounding properties. <br />The Administrator pointed out that financing <br />constraints dictate that the entire property cannot be <br />regraded. <br />SIGN The Mayor pointed out that the Planning Commission has <br />oRDINANCE - recommended that the Sign Ordinance not be amended to <br />FREE-STANDING increase the free-standing sign allowance for shopping <br />SIGN centers having multiple buildings. Fahey also pointed <br />ALLOWANCE out that the City previously denied the request by ROI <br />Fund for a variance to allow a third pylon at their <br />Rice at C Center. <br />Fahey pointed out that the situation involves a <br />shopping center that consists of two primary buildings <br />plus a smaller third building which could be parcelled <br />Page 16 <br />
