MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 11, 1990 <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-335 - APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF ONE <br />SET OF BANNERS AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $700.00 AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE PARK CONSULTANT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (o). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey.suggested that in connection with Celebrate MN <br />1990 and the Canadian Days Celebration, that flag pole <br />brackets be installed on poles on Centerville Road from <br />Little Canada Road to Eli Road, as well as poles along <br />Eli Road. Fahey stated that he wanted to see flaqs <br />flown along this route during the Canadian Days <br />Celebration. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-7-336 - AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF <br />FLAG POLE BRACKETS AND USE OF CITY STAFF FOR THEIR <br />INSTALLATION ON POLES ALONG CENTERVILLE ROAD FROM <br />LITTLE CANADA ROAD TO ELI ROAD AS WELL AS ALONG ELI <br />ROAD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CANADIAN DAYS CELEBRATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Blesener, LaValle, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey suggested that staff go through the flags that <br />the City has in storage and if some are determined to <br />be unusable, they should be disposed of in a respectful <br />fashion. <br />The City Administrator reported that if it is <br />determined there is an inadequate number of flags on <br />hand, additional flags will be purchased. <br />Fahey pointed out that American, Little Canada, and <br />Thunder Bay flags should be flown along the route <br />previously described during Canadian Days. <br />Page 15 <br />
