MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 11, 1990 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Blesener, LaValle, Collova. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. At this point in the meeting, Bill Sanders, the Park Consultant arrived, and informed the Council that when reviewing the landscaping plans, the County gave no indication that they were planning for future reoonstruction of the Little Canada Road/Lakeshore Avenue intersection. Fahey asked that the Park Consultant verify this issue specifically with the County. Collova pointed out the number of power poles and electrical wires at the Little Canada Road/Centerville Road intersection. Collova felt there may be one pole that is unnecessary, and suggested that the Park Consultant determine if it can be eliminated. Sanders believed the extra pole was a support pole. Sanders sugqested that the electrical wires for the entire intersection should be underground, and suggested that he look into this. Fahey agreed. The City Administrator suggested that the architects look at this issue. Scalze suggested that at the same time the architects look at either locating the control box for the semi-fores within the new fire station or installing the control box underground. Scalze pointed out that Bill Sanders is working with the architect on the landscaping at the fire station site. Sanders reported that it may not be possible to get the Celebrate MN landscaping at the fire station site in this year, however, the.contractor will hold the price until next year. Sanders stated that he would like to get the light poles installed during 1990, however. Sanders reviewed the proposal for banners which will be hung from the light poles and banner poles. Sanders suggested that the City purchase one set of banners at this time and eventually purchase four separate sets of banners which can be changed with the seasons. Estimated cost of the banners is $600 to $700 per set. Page 14
