MINUTE5
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 25, 1990
CASH DEDICATION TO BE PAID ON EACH INDIVIDUAL LOT AT
THE TIME OF BUILDING PERMIT, WITA AMOUNT OF PARK CHARGE
TO BE BASED ON ANY REVISION TO THE ORDINANCE INCREASING
THE PARK CAARGE, AND PRELIMINARY PLAT APPROVAL IS
SUBJECT TO THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AS
CONTAINED IN THIS REPORT DATED JULY 9, 1990
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Fahey asked the estimated cost of conducting a drainage
study of the area.
The City Engineer estimated that a general study would
require 12 to 16 hours. The Engineer stated that the
purpose of the study would be to get a feel for the
sizing requirements for storm sewer on Little Canada
Road. The Engineer also stated that he would contact
the County to determine if they have any improvement
plans in this area.
Scalze pointed out that the City has requested that the
County install curb and gutter along Little Canada Road
from'the Fire Station to Schletty Drive.
Blesener reported that this improvement is in the
County's plans, however, down the priority list.
Fahey asked how the study would be paid for.
The Engineer reported that if the Swanson project
proceeds, the cost of the study as regards that project
would be borne by the developer. If the project does
not proceed, and there is no developer deposit for the
cost, the City would have to cover the cost.
Fahey pointed out to Chapman that the City will look to
the Swanson project to bear the cost of the study that
pertains to the Swanson development.
Chapman stated that he can appreciate this.
The City Administrator suggested that staff establish
an appropriate deposit amount for study costs that
would be required of the Swanson development.
Page 11
