MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JULY 25, 1990 <br />The City Engineer estimated the cost at between $50 and <br />$75 per front foot with curb and gutter making up about <br />$15 per front foot of that cost. <br />Scalze stated that she could see allowing a <br />reduced-size cul-de-sac in this instance. <br />Fahey stated that he was not in favor of the property <br />division unless there was a street improvement. <br />Collova agreed that there should be a paved mat to <br />serve the lot, however, felt it could be something less <br />than the City's standard road improvement. Fahey <br />width that would be allowed for the <br />The Planner reported that the Subdivision Ordinance <br />does not have a minimum width requirement for paving. <br />However, City policy has established a minimum width at <br />24 feet. <br />The City Engineer replied that 24 feet is two lanes, 20 <br />feet would be sufficient for two cars to pass, 18 feet <br />would be bare minimum. <br />Fahey asked if the rest of the area had curb and <br />gutter. <br />Tom Stewart reported that Savage Lane has curb and <br />gutter, however, Rose Place does not. Stewart <br />estimated the width of the Rose Place pavement at 18 <br />feet. <br />Fahey felt that if 20 feet of width as well as curb and <br />gutter is consistent with the rest of the area, that is <br />what should be required in this instance. <br />Scalze agreed. Scalze pointed out that if Rose Place <br />is redone, this is what the City will require. <br />Mr. Stewart expressed concern with requiring improved <br />road to serve the lot. <br />Fahey pointed out that this improvement will correct a <br />Page 5 <br />
