MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 8, 1990
and the fact that the current park charge has been in
effect for the last 7 or 8 years, the City's park
charge should be increased.
Scalze made a motion to increase the City's park charge
for single-family residential properties from $300 per
lot to $500 per lot, which is comparable with
Roseville's park charqe. This motion died for lack of
a second.
Scalze pointed out that the City's parks are currently
being developed, and the City does not have a lot of
money for development. Scalze felt the increased park
charge was a form of user fee being collected from the
new homeowner in the City. Scalze pointed out that
current residents have been supporting the City's park
system in the form of property taxes for many years.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 90-8-375 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT INCREASING THE CITY'S
PARK CHARGE FROM $300 PER SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL LOT
TO $400 PER SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL LOT
The foregoinq resolution was duly seconded by Collova.
Ayes (4) Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (1) Scalze.
Resolution declared adopted.
ELECTION Council discussed the need for appointment of election
JUDGES judges as well as the need for some additional IR
judges.
Council consensus was to rely on the recommendation of
the City Administrator for appointment of necessary
election judges.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 90-8-376 - APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES AS
RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Fahey.
Nays (o).
Resolution declared adopted.
Page 23
