MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AUGUST 30, 1990 <br />FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS FROM ALL CONTRACTS FOR THE CITY <br />CENTER REMODELING PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRE The City Administrator pointed out the need for a <br />STATION qrading permit so that work can begin on the new Fire <br />GRADING Station project. <br />PERMIT <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-8-403 - APPROVING A GRADING PERMIT <br />FOR THE NEW FIRE STATION PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, Collova, Blesener, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />COUNTRY The City Engineer has requested that the Council call <br />DRIVE - CALL for bids for improvement of Country Drive from the St. <br />FOR BIDS Paul Water Works to Owasso Blvd. South. <br />The Administrator reviewed the estimated cost of the <br />improvement which is $516,500.00. The Administrator <br />pointed out that the improvement hearing was based on <br />an estimated cost of $452,516. However, the <br />Administrator did not believe there would be a problem <br />with financing of the project since Minnesota State Aid <br />funds will pick up the difference in cost and the <br />entire project is not being assessed. The <br />Administrator also pointed out that it is not known how <br />the recent fluctuation in oil prices will effect the <br />project until the bids come in. <br />Blesener asked if the storm sewer portion of the <br />project is necessary to serve the Kandice Heights <br />project. <br />The City Administrator reported that he has met with <br />the contractor on this subject. There may be <br />alternatives to achieve the drainage on a temporary <br />basis until the storm sewer can be built. <br />Page 7 <br />
