MINUTES CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 12, 1990 Scalze pointed out the necessity for someone to design the projects, draw up the plans and put the projects out for bid. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-9-423 - ACCEPTING AND AWARDING THE LOW BID OF JESPERSON HOMES IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,500.00 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A ICE AOCKEY PRACTICE RINK ON THE WATER WORKS PEROPERTY, INCLUDING THE PAYMENT OF ARCHITECT FEES FOR TAE PROJECT WHICH ARE ESTIMATED AT $1,500.00 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey, LaValle. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-9-424 - TABLING ACTION ON THE AWARDING OF BIDS FOR THE WARMING HOUSE PROJECT AT 40 W. DEMONT AVENUE UNTIL SUCH TIME AS ADDITIONAL FUNDS BECOME AVAILABLE SO THAT THE CITY'S BUDGET FOR THE HOCKEY RINK AND WARMING HOUSE PROJECTS IS NOT EXCEEDED, OR THE PROJECT IS DECREASED IN SCOPE SO THAT THE COMBINATION OF THE HOCKEY RINK AND WARMING AOUSE PROJECTS REMAINS WITHIN THE CITY'S TOTAL BUDGET FOR THESE TWO PROJECTS The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (o). Resolution declared adopted. Fahey again expressed concern over the estimated architect fees for the two projects, feeling that it was not necessary to have an architect draw up specs for a hockey rink and warming house. Collova agreed, but pointed out that it is too late to address this issue for these projects at this point. Scalze asked if change-orders or redesign of the warming house will increase architect fees. The City Administrator reported that he would verify the effect on these costs. Page 17
