MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 12, 1990 <br />PURCHASE OF Harris reviewed his report dated September 12th <br />PUBLIC WORKS regarding the replacement of the City's Dodge dump <br />VEAICLE truck with a used State dump truck. The total cost of <br /> the 1977 Ford dump truck, including some repair work <br /> and two sanders is $21,909. The City has budqeted <br /> $40,000 for the replacement of the Dodge. <br /> Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and <br /> moved its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 90-9-422 - AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A <br /> USED CAT DIESEL 1977 FORD DUMP TRUCK WITH REPAIRS, PLUS <br /> TWO MCQUEEN SANDERS, AT A COST OF $21,909.00 AS <br /> RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br /> The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br /> Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Fahey. <br /> Nays (o). <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br />AOCKEY RINK The City Administrator reviewed the bids received for <br />& WARMING construction of a hockey rink at the Water Works <br />HOUSE BIDS property. The low bid was received from Jespersen <br />Homes in the amount of $16,500. With architect fees <br />for the project at $1,500, the total project costs <br />would be $18,000. The City has budgeted $10,000 for <br />the hockey rink. <br />The Administrator reviewed the bids received for <br />construction of a warming house at rink #2, 40 W. <br />Demont. The low bid was received from W. H. Cates <br />Construction, Inc. in the amount of $55,500.00. <br />Architect fees are estimated at $3,792.00 bringing the <br />total estimated cost to $59,292.00. The City has <br />budgeted $20,000 for this project, and has donation <br />commitments of $34,200.00 for a total of $54,200.00 in <br />funds available. <br />The City Administrator reported that he has discussed <br />the two projects with the Recreation Director, who <br />feels that the hockey rink project should proceed this <br />year. The City will review its options with regard to <br />the warming house project, which include decreasing the <br />overall scope of the project or seeking additional <br />donations. The Administrator recommended that the <br />combined total of the two projects be kept within the <br />City's budget. <br />Fahey questioned the architect fees for these two <br />projects. <br />Page 16 <br />
