The
Vadnais Heiqhts City Planner has contact Little Canada
asking if our City would consider adopting a similar
district. This request is in response to the potential
development of the Mitchell property on Twin Lake, part
of which lies in Vadnais Heights and the remainder in
Little Canada.
Scalze reported that the Mayor has indicated that
Little Canada should wait until Vadnais Heights holds
their hearings and see what direction the issue goes.
The City Planner reported that the property in question
is within the City's Shoreline District which requires
20,000 square foot lots for property abutting the lake
and 15,000 square foot lots for non-abutting property.
The Planner stated that he believed the matter has come
up since Vadnais Heights is concerned with the
aesthetics of the property and preservation of trees.
It was the consensus of the Council to wait and see
what action Vadnais Heights takes before getting
involved in this issue.
Page 29
