MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA October 30, 1990 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 30th day of October, 1990 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to order at 7:00 P.M. and the following members of the Council were present at roll call: MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey Council Member Mr. Bill Blesener Council Member Mr. Rick Collova Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson Building Insp. Mr. John Palacio Public Works Mr. Dave Harris Rec. Director Mr. Jim Morelan Fire Chief Mr. Frank Graczyk Asst. Fire Chief Mr. Dick Boss Rec. Assoc. Mr. Steve Morelan Sr. Cit. Coord. Mrs. Johanna Meath Rec. Secretary Mrs. Kathy Glanzer USE OF FIRE Fahey pointed out that the first issue to be discussed STATION BLDG. this evening is whether or not the City should retain the existing Fire Station building. Input received thus far from various City groups has been to retain the Fire Station building. Those City organizations and departments expressing an interest in use of the existing Fire Station building include the Little Canada Recreation Association, Little Canada Fire Department, Recreation Department, 55+ Club, Little Canada Historical Society, Canadian Days Coordinator, and the Deputy Clerk. Fahey noted that staff has put together an estimated budget for the operation and maintenance of the building. The Administrator reported that the budget did not include insurance costs. It was thought that the appraised value of the building was $120,000, with staff to verify that amount. Page 1
