MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 14, 1990
5AXON - In May of this year, the City Council approved a
HOURS OF 24-hour operation at the Saxon Lanes, subject to a
OPERATION six-month review. Fahey reviewed a report from the
Sheriff's Department regarding efforts that are being
made to reduce the number of incidents at Mingles/Saxon
Lanes. It was the recommendation of the Sheriff's
Department that since there has not been adequate time
to determine if these efforts are successful, a 3 to 6
month extension of the 24-hour operation be granted at
this time.
Council reviewed the Sheriff's Dept. incident report,
and Blesener felt that the incidents were directly
connected to Mingles, and not the bowling alley.
Scalze suggested that Mingles should be required to
have a guard in their parking lot.
Representatives of Mingles/Saxon Lanes reported that
they do have a guard in their parking lot from 9 P.M.
until Mingles closes and patrons have left.
Scalze pointed out that the City would like to see the
problem at Mingles corrected.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 90-11-510 - EXTENDING THE APPROVAL FOR A
24-HOUR OPERATION AT THE SAXON LANES UNTIL JUNE 1, 1991
AT WHICH TIME COUNCIL WILL AGAIN REVIEW THE MATTER
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
CARDINAL Mr. Chris Cardinal requested approval of a fill and
FILL PERMIT excavation permit for the property located at the
intersection of Keller Parkway and Lakeside Court.
Cardinal reported that he would like to do some soil
correction work on the lot constructing a housing pad.
Cardinal reported that he would be bringing in less
than 1,000 cubic yards of fill.
Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 90-11-511 - APPROVING THE FILL AND
EXCAVATION PERMIT AS REQUESTED BY CHRIS CARDINAL FOR
THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF KELLER
Page 3
