MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 14, 1990
PARKWAY AND LAKESIDE COURT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE
BUILDING INSPECTOR, CITY ENGINEER AND WATERSHED
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (o).
Resolution declared adopted.
ALLEN AVE. Council reviewed the City Administrator's report
TAX FORFEIT regarding tax forfeited property in the area of Allen
PROPERTY Avenue. There is strip of tax forfeited property
approximately 30 feet by 300 feet that is necessary for
a portion of the right-of-way needed for Costa Lane
should that street be extended north to Allen Avenue.
It was the concensus of the Council that this strip
should be acquired by the City regardless of whether
Costa Lane is extended north.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION N0. 90-11-512 - APPROVING THE CITY'S
ACQUISITION OF A LAND USE DEED FOR THE STRIP OF TAX
FORFEITED PROPERTY IN TxE ALLEN AVENUE AREA, AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS ON BEAALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
Bob DeBace, representing the Costa family, asked if the
City is willing to work towards acquisition of the
remaining easements so that Costa Lane can run north.
DeBace asked the Council's feeling for condemning these
easements, should that prove to be the only means by
which they can be acquired.
The City Administrator reported that the owners of the
three properties where easements are needed have been
contacted. As the Council is aware, Mrs. Plessel is
expecting compensation for her easement, however, her
property is not splitable. Mr. Bruehn has indicated
that he will not donate the easement, and feels he
should get some compensation. The Administrator
reported that on the third property, the bank has
indicated a willingness to discuss the situation
further.
Page 4
