MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 20, 1990
The Administrator reported that the comparable worth
points for the Deputy Clerk and Administrative
Assistant positions are very close and suggested that
the same scale be used for both positions.
The Administrator reviewed his recommendation for
salary scale and 3 1/2% salary adjustment for the
Deputy Clerk. The Administrator reported that the
Deputy Clerk's present salary is in excess of the
maximum on the salary scale, therefore, he was
recommending only a cost of living increase.
The Administrator reviewed the salary scale he is
recommending for the two secretary positions and his
recommendation for a 5.5% increase for 1991.
Blesener moved that the Council accept the
recommendation of the City Administrator with regard to
salary scales and salary increases for 1991 with the
additional adjustment as discussed for the position of
Administrative Assistant and review of the City's
previous agreement for salary adjustment for Pat Dunn.
Motion seconded by LaValle.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
Fahey reported that he and Jim LaValle, as
Administrative Liaison, are recommending a 4% salary
increase for the City Administrator for 1991 plus a
one-time $1,350 increase to be put into the Travel &
Conference Fund for the Administrator's continuing
education.
Council discussed this recommendation and it was the
consensus of the Council that this was an acceptable
increase for 1991.
Scalze asked that in the future the Administrator give
the Council comparables showing what other cities are
paying their administrators, similar to what was done
for the other positions.
The Administrator provided that information.
Fahey suggested that the City look at providing some
relocation expenses as additional compensation to the
Administrator should he relocate in the City.
The Administrator reported that this is already
addressed in the agreement he has with the City.
Page 4
