MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 26, 1990 <br />RECESS At this point in the meeting, 9:08 P.M., Council took a <br />short recess. The meeting was reconvened at 9:20 P.M. <br />SR. HOUSING Fahey reported that Dominium Group is no longer <br />interested in pursuing a senior citizen housing project <br />within the City. The City Administrator is <br />recommending that the City prepare a <br />request-for-proposal to determine what interest there <br />is in such a project. <br />The Administrator reported that Barthel Construction <br />has indicated that they have a couple of non-profit <br />groups interested in such a project. The Administrator <br />suggested the RFP approach in order to get the best <br />project possible for the City. <br />Joe Vitale, one of the owners of the site being <br />considered for a senior housing project, asked for the <br />City's assistance in helping to move the property. <br />Scalze pointed out that if there are Community Block <br />Grant Funds available for such projects, the City <br />should pursue them. <br />Council discussed the potential use of Community Block <br />Grant Funds to assist a senior project, and it was <br />their consensus to pursue these funds. Council also <br />agreed that the Administrator should put together an <br />RFP for a senior project. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 90-12-564 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY BLOCK <br />GRANT FUNDS TO BE USED TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF <br />A SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING PROJECT, AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR TO DEVELOP A <br />REQUEST-FOR-PROPOSAL FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING <br />PROJECT WITHIN THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Fahey, Scalze, LaValle, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />LIQUOR The City Attorney submitted a proposed Liquor ordinance <br />ORDINANCE which incorporates the City's existing ordinance as <br />well as the City Planner's recommendations for classes <br />of liquor licenses and cleans up some conflicting <br />Page 12 <br />
