MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
rebruary 13, 1991
making adjustments that are fair.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-2-55 - ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR WITH REGARD TO COST CUTTING
MEASURES AS OUTLINED IN AIS REPORT DATED FEBRUARY 8,
1991 WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE RECOMMENDATION REGARDING
TAE FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION DISCRETIONARY LEVY
SUBSTITUTING AN ADDITIONAL $4~000 IN SAVINGS IN
INSURANCE COSTS DUE TO THE REBATE OF 1989 INSURANCE
PREMIUMS AS REPORTED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Hanson, Collova.
Nays (O). Resolution declared adopted.
OFFICE The City Administrator reviewed a proposed lay-out of
EQUIPMENT modular office furniture proposed for the clerical
staff area. Anticipated cost of this furniture is
between $15,000 and $20,000, and the City is
anticipating a purchase of this furniture from the
State contract vendor. The Administrator pointed out
that one of the office areas will be bid as an
alternate, and he is proposing that the furniture for
this area not be purchased unless the total price comes
within the $15,000 to $20,000 range.
The Administrator reviewed quotations which have been
received for telephone systems for both the City Center
and Fire Station. Engineered Communications quoted a
total of $8,119.00 for both projects, and Executone
quoted $9,129 for both projects. Reference checks were
done on both systems, and there appears to be no
noticeable difference in the systems. It was the
recommendation of the Administrator that the quote of
Engineered Communications, the State contract vendor,
for the Comdial phone system be approved.
The Administrator pointed out that both the anticipated
cost of office furniture and cost of telephone systems
for the City Center and Fire Station are within the
budgeted amounts for both building projects.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-2-56 - APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
COMDIAL TELEPHONE SYSTEMS FOR THE CITY CENTER AND FIRE
STATION FROM ENGINEERED COMMUNICATIONS AT A TOTAL COST
OF $8,119.00 AND APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF MODULAR
OFFICE FURNITURE SYSTEM AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $20,000
AS OUTLINED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR
Page 10
