MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />February 13, 1991 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />EMPLOYEE The City Administrator reviewed his report dated <br />HEALTH February 8, 1990 regarding employee health insurance. <br />The Administrator pointed out that employee health <br />insurance costs for 1991 are anticipated to be $31,000, <br />and he is recommending a cap be placed on these costs <br />subject to future neqotiations. The Administrator also <br />pointed out that since there has been some <br />dissatisfaction expressed on the part of employees with <br />the City's existing carrier, applications have been <br />submitted to two different carriers. However, rates <br />will not be known until the applications can be <br />reviewed by the insurance companies' underwriters. The <br />Administrator requested authorization to change <br />insurance carriers for employee health insurance <br />subject to a cap of $31,000 with the understanding that <br />any additional cost would be paid by the employees. <br />The Administrator reported that the employees have been <br />involved in and understand the process. <br />Blesener asked if the Administrator checked into the <br />City's joining with the County's group coverage. <br />The Administrator replied that he has and the County's <br />rates are higher than what the City is currently <br />looking at. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-2-57 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO CHANGE CARRIERS FOR EMPLOYEE HEALTH <br />INSURANCE SUBJECT TO TAE CITY'S COSTS NOT EXCEEDING <br />$31,000 WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT CITY EMPLOYEES ARE <br />INVOLVED IN AND COMFORTABLE WITH ANY CHANGE IN CARRIERS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Hanson, LaValle, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />SALE OF LAND The City Administrator reported that the City owns a <br />RUTH & parcel of land on the corner of Ruth and Demont. An <br />DEMONT individual has recently asked about the City's plans <br />for this parcel. The land appears to be buildable. <br />The Administrator asked the Council's feelings <br />reqarding disposing of the property and getting it baclc <br />on the tax rolls. <br />Page 11 <br />
