MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 10, 1991
charitable gambling.
Blesener stated that he dislikes the recent activities
at the Little Canada Bingo Hall with outsiders moving
in and voting themselves as being an organization.
Blesener agreed that it was a good idea to have someone
on the City's behalf monitorinq charitable gambling
activities on a part-time basis.
It was suggested that staff research what other cities
are doing and obtain copies of other cities' charitable
gambling ordinances.
The City Administrator felt there was merit in what the
Council was discussing. The Administrator reported
that the State intends to begin its audit of the
charitable gambling organizations operating at the
Little Canada Bingo Aall on July 15th, and the action
we consider should be subject to the results of that
investigation.
Collova stated that he was reluctant to hire a
part-time person to oversee charitable gambling
activities. Collova stated that he preferred to see
the City keep out of these activities, and the State
continue to regulate the charities.
Other Council Members stated that they would like to
see what other cities are doing.
ADJOURN Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 91-7-235 - ADJOURNING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Hanson.
Nays (O).
Resolution declared adopted.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
Attest:
_ ~ ~ .. .. ,.
